Things people actually said in court

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and
are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and
now published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm
while these exchanges were actually taking place.

ATTORNEY: Are you sexually active?

WITNESS: No, I just lie there.

____________________

ATTORNEY: What is your date of birth?

WITNESS: July 18th.

ATTORNEY: What year?

WITNESS: Every year.

____________________

ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?

WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks.

ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all?

WITNESS: Yes.

ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory?

WITNESS: I forget.

ATTORNEY: You forget? Can you give us an example of something you
forgot?

____________________

ATTORNEY: How old is your son, the one living with you?

WITNESS: Thirty-eight or thirty-five, I can't remember which.

ATTORNEY: How long has he lived with you?

WITNESS: Forty-five years.

____________________

ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you that
morning?

WITNESS: He said, "Where am I, Cathy?"

ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you?

WITNESS: My name is Susan.

____________________

ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in hissleep,
he doesn't know about it until the next morning?

WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?

____________________

ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the twenty-year-old, how old is he?

WITNESS: Uh, he's twenty.

____________________

ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?

WITNESS: Would you repeat the question?

____________________

ATTORNEY: So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th?

WITNESS: Yes.

ATTORNEY: And what were you doing at that time?

WITNESS: Uh....

____________________

ATTORNEY: She had three children, right?

WITNESS: Yes.

ATTORNEY: How many were boys?

WITNESS: None.

ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?

____________________

ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?

WITNESS: By death.

ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?

____________________

ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?

WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard.

ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?

____________________

ATTORNEY: Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a deposition
notice which I sent to your attorney?

WITNESS: No, this is how I dress when I go to work.

____________________

ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead
people?

WITNESS: All my autopsies are performed on dead people.

____________________

ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you go
to?

WITNESS: Oral.

____________________

ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?

WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 p.m.

ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?

WITNESS: No, he was sitting on the table wondering why I was doing an
autopsy on him!

____________________

ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?

WITNESS: Huh?

____________________

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a
pulse?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY Did you check for breathing?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when
youbegan the autopsy?

WITNESS: No.

ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?

WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.

A Goat and Dog arrested in Alabama

A goat was arrested in Northern Alabama for jumping on a car!
Sheriff Mike Blakely said the goat and the dog were playing on U.S. 72 near County Line Road on Sunday morning when a motorist stopped to get them out of harm’s way. She feared they would cause a wreck or someone would run over them.
What the motorist, Patricia Tomlinson of Madison, didn’t count on was the goat clamoring on top of her car, causing at least $1,000 in damage with its hooves.
The vehicle was initially thought to be a Mercedes-Benz, but a written report indicates it is a 2004 Toyota Camry.
Tomlinson called the Sheriff’s Department, and when deputy Ron Crouch arrived, he found her holding onto the goat as it scratched and dented her vehicle.
Crouch put the goat in his patrol car, and the dog hopped into the back seat with his buddy.
No one had claimed either the dog or the goat.

Real Dog's Lover

York hotelier and real estate magnate Leona Helmsley left millions to her beloved dog, Trouble, but she has left billions for the care of dogs in general, The New York Times said on Tuesday.
Helmsley left instructions that an entire charitable trust valued at $5 billion to $8 billion (£2.5 billion to 4 billion) and amounting to virtually all of her estate, be used for the care and welfare of dogs, the newspaper said, citing two people who had seen the document and described it on condition of anonymity.

The two people who had seen the document said Helmsley signed it in 2003 to establish goals for the trust that would disburse assets after her death. The first goal was to help indigent people and the second to provide for the care and welfare of dogs, the newspaper said.

Only in China roads

China's roads are becoming busier as the country goes through a period of rapid economic growth. There are many reasons for the frequent traffic accidents, including China's under-developed roads, highways, and vehicles, as well as a poor public awareness of traffic safety."
